Hello London,
There are so many legends playing this weekend that it’s causing me analysis paralysis!
But before we get to that, Social Sauna Club has brought back their Ambient Sauna Sessions, with some incredible artists on the line-up. Also, the legendary free party collective – Spiral Tribe – are hosting a series of events, panel talks, exhibitions, and parties all week at REinsTate, a community centre reclaimed from the clutches of urban decay of the historic Tate Institute in Silvertown. They are doing great work. Look into it.
In addition, Fish56Octagon is hosting a free pop-up this Thursday at Rowans Tenpin Bowling. It’s not exactly a rave but if you enjoy bowling mixed with UKG, don’t miss it. Plus, its free – hard to argue with that.
Now for the raves…
On Friday, BHAN, the party known for its dancefloor etiquette, is returning with a new format, unannounced line-up, and an even more focused and immersive dancefloor environment at The Bath House. The music will go from ambient to melodic to techno. Expect a proper journey, and do check out their ethos before you buy a ticket. Carl Craig and Octave One are also back in London, this time at FOLD, which is the obvious pick if classic Detroit techno is your thing. For NY-style house, head to Night Tales for Todd Terry.
On Saturday, Gaffe’s hosting a day and night party with Facta & K-LONE going all day, and a riveting line-up for their night session. If you want techno, you have the choice between UK legend Robert Hood at E1 or Berlin techno royalty Len Faki at Phonox. ESG, the legendary punk-dance group from the 70s, headline The Cause for what is billed as their final ever London show as part of the venue’s summer closing. Also on the line-up are Giles Peterson, Horsemeat Disco, and a host of other artists.
Sunday is a bit more mixed, but still very much worth a look.
