January is usually meant to be quiet, but this month clearly missed the memo. Dancefloors are busy, tickets are vanishing, and half the shows we bookmarked are already sold out, which feels… new. Don’t panic, though, there’s still plenty of underground heat this weekend!

Friday comes in strong. For high-intensity techno and left-field dubstep, you have Perc & Shackleton at Corsica Studios. Glasgow’s techno institution Slam land at The Jazz Café with a proper live set. And over at Ormside Projects, 160 Unity brings the UK debut of DJ Chad (yes, DJ Rashad’s son) for a night of raw, future-facing footwork.

If Saturday is your moment, XOYO reopens with a brand-new VOID sound system and fresh lighting - expect house, disco, and good vibes. For something deeper and more intentional, head to Modern Funktion’s 5th birthday at The Cause: no phones, no ego, just Sweely, Truly Madly, The Trip + more doing what they do best.
