Hello London,
This week’s picks are eclectic, energetic, and (of course) deeply underground. I’ve also pulled together a list of community radio stations currently accepting new show submissions.
You can start early on Thursday with a free party at Planet Wax with jazzy jungle and DnB. Pace yourself though, because Friday is stacked.
Choose between sexy, groove-led energy with Tech Couture, a five-floor queer art rave at Riposte, or go fully unhinged with hard house, immersive punk theatre and cabaret at Nachtlicker X. If you want something truly underground, Soundclash! brings London and Bristol soundsystems head-to-head.
To continue the party into Saturday, head to The Old Church in Stoke Newington for Necropolis Festival, yes, techno in a church. Or reset with a deep listening session from DJ Programma at Om Being.
For peak energy, mad miran B2B Pariah at Palais is a seriously delicious combination. Tim Green at Number 90 is one for the organic and proggy heads. I’ll personally be at fabric - Collisions because I can’t miss 12 hours of Wata Igarashi and Ricardo Villalobos.
Sunday’s selections are a bit more gentle, with Plants Can Dance offering an ambient concert rooted in stillness and texture. Or you can head to Giant Steps at The Bath House for an eclectic vinyl session on a beautifully restored hybrid sound system.
See you on the dancefloor,
Afaan
