Hello London,
If you enjoy making impossible decisions, then I have a treat for you…
Ease into it this Thursday with On the Mezzanine at fabric – this is one for the house heads, while genre[fatigue] at M.O.T should scratch the itch if you want something more broken, glitchy, and leftfield. Also, what a great name!
On Friday, Tiga, Jen Cardini, Bambounou and DJ Tennis at FOLD is probably the obvious heavyweight pick, but Alex Kassian at Palais is a very strong alternative if you want something warmer and more melodic. TUSH at Cu is also worth a shout, not just for the FLINTA+ line-up, but also because it’s a fundraiser for a mental illness organisation: Rethink.
Saturday is stacked in a very different way. Coki and Youngsta at Gaffe should be a proper dubstep workout and while it pains me to recommend a superclub, Bugged Out! is bringing 2ManyDJs, Erol Alkan, and a host of iconic artists to DRUMSHEDS. At M.O.T, Mad Miran, Jossy Rebelle, and Mark Flash is probably where I would be if I wanted something a little more gritty and heads-down. There’s also Bobby Beethoven and Tayhana at Ormside Projects for the more experimentally minded.
Sunday softens things slightly, but only slightly. Steve Bug at The Timber Loft is there for the deep house heads, there’s Giles Smith at GIANT STEPS if you enjoy a crate digger’s selections, and there’s Satiate at Radial if you are somehow still in the mood for house and techno.
Basically, there is no sensible way to do all of this. Pick your lane and commit!
See you next week,
Afaan
